The execution of Khaled and Nidal ‘Amirah in Nablus

On 10 June 2025, Israeli army soldiers shot dead two Palestinian men, Khaled and Nidal ‘Amirah, in the city of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. Based on exclusive footage of the scene, an investigation by B’Tselem and Index shows that the two men were shot while posing no threat whatsoever.

On 10 June 2025, during a large-scale raid in the old city of Nablus, Israeli armed forces killed two Palestinians: the brothers Nidal and Khaled ‘Amirah.
Following the incident, the Israeli army claimed in a statement that the men were “terrorists” who had tried to seize a soldier’s weapon and had wounded four others. The soldiers had then allegedly responded by firing at the two men, killing them both.
However, video analysis and the testimonies gathered contradict this account of events. A joint investigation by B’Tselem and Index reveals that the ‘Amirah brothers at no point posed a danger to the soldiers involved. Yet Khaled was executed at point-blank range while being held down on the ground by several armed soldiers, while his brother Nidal was shot in the back. The soldiers also prevented the paramedics present from coming to their aid.
The bodies of Nidal and Khaled ‘Amirah are still being held by the Israeli armed forces.
In Nablus as in Jenin – where soldiers were filmed last month executing two Palestinians who had surrendered – these images reveal a “shoot-on-sight” policy that allows the Israeli army to make unrestrained use of lethal force against Palestinians. Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
