Index has signed La Quadrature du Net’s op-ed on the right to encryption

Index is among the first hundred and thirty signatories of an op-ed launched by La Quadrature du Net, which defends the encryption of communications as a right inseparable from privacy.
Published in Le Monde on 14 June 2023, the op-ed denounces the criminalisation of encryption – whether by the French police or by European and international bodies – and insists that it is “a right inseparable from the protection of privacy”.
