What we do with your videos
- The videos will be studied and verified by journalists from StreetPress, ViolencesPolicieres.fr and Index.
- All cases of illegitimate violence will be added to the ViolencesPolicieres.fr database, in order to build the most complete archive possible.
- Editorial coverage will be handled by StreetPress and will lead to publications cross-referencing several reports.
- The most serious incidents will be the subject of an in-depth forensic analysis by Index, in order to establish the facts and produce evidence that can be used in court.
Tips
- For your safety, read the “Practical guide: how to film the police” published by Index.
- Send the video as a document, not as a video: this preserves quality and metadata.
- Give as many details as possible: date, time and place, context, what happened before or after, who filmed the footage, contact details of other witnesses present…
The three newsrooms undertake to store your footage on a secure server and to never disclose your identity.
